Former Morning Musume(モーニング娘。) Member, Asami Konno(紺野あさ美) Takes Leave of Absense From TV Announcer Job Due To Poor Health

Announcer of TV Tokyo, Asami Konno(紺野あさ美) (26) was reported to have taken a leave of absence from her job due to health reason. Konno was the first announcer to have come from idol background(Morning Musume) and people in the industry have had great expectation from her. In previous month, she was in charged of a sports programming called "neo sport". With her taking a leave of absence, it is going to be a big loss for TV Tokyo.

Asami Konno began complaining about her physical condition at the end of last year. The deteriorating health seems to overlap the time period when she was discovered dating Hiroshima Carp's pitcher Yusuke Nomura(野村祐輔) (24). It is possible that the mental stress from the tabloid report was the main cause for her poor health and her declining performance in her announcer job.

According to the people involved in the TV program, "She has been ridiculed for not being able to perform to the best of her potential as an announcer. She seems to be very concern about what people are saying about her." In addition, there are also pressure coming from the top about her sluggish growth as an announcer. 

When reporter pressed for details about Konno, spokesperson from TV Tokyo said, "She's not taking a leave of absence, she's actually on a hiatus due to poor health."
