Arashi(嵐)'s "GUTS!" Tops Oricon Weekly Chart, Reaching Plateau of 20 Millions Overall Singles Sold Since Debut

Popular group Arashi(嵐) released their 43rd single titled "GUTS!" on April 30th, 2014. The single sold over 501,000 copies in its first week and it is currently the leader in the weekly single ranking. Since the group's debut, they've sold over 20,081,000 singles and counting. Arashi has become the 5th group in history to have sold over 20 millions singles. The other 4 groups include B'z (1997), Mr.Children (2000), SMAP (2005), and GLAY (2013).

As of now, Arashi has thirty-nine number 1 singles; thirty-two of which are consecutive since "PIKA★★NCHI DOUBLE" which was released on February of 2004. B'z currently holds the 1st place in history with forty-six number 1 singles. A difference of seven singles with 2nd place Arashi.

The title song of the single "GUTS!" is the main theme song for Nippon TV drama series "Yowakutemo Katemasu(弱くても勝てます ～青志先生とへっぽこ高校球児の野望～)" starring Kazunari Ninomiya (二宮和也). The second track of the single "KIMI GA WARAERU YOU NI(君が笑えるように)" is the theme song for TV Asahi drama "Shinigami-Kun(死神くん)" starring leader of the group Satoshi Ohno(大野 智).
