A few days ago, it was revealed that Minami Kanan(水波風南)’s shoujo manga series “Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu(今日、恋をはじめます)” is getting a live-action movie. Today, it was announced that the movie will star actress Takei Emi(武井咲)(17) and actor Matsuzaka Tori(松坂桃李) (23).

Takei will play the role of the protagonist Hibino Tsubaki, while Matsuzaka will play the male lead and love interest Tsubaki Kyota. Both of them have previously worked on-screen together in the television dramas
“Asukou March!(アスコーマーチ!)” and ”GOLD,” but this is their first time together in a movie.

The movie is said to include original scenes that were not in the manga. Filming will begin in early January but is expected to take longer than usual in order to capture things such as the changing seasons. Theatrical release is scheduled for sometime in 2012.

Furusawa Takeshi(古澤剛)(“Another,” “Ghost Train”) will direct.
