Erina Mano(真野恵里菜) Threw Out First Pitch at Lotte Marines Game + Exhibition of PatLabor Robot

On April 20th, 2014, actress Erina Mano(真野恵里菜) (23) thew out the ceremonial first pitch at the Chiba Lotte Marines game. Rookie infielder Haruya Inoue(井上晴哉) took a swing and missed Mano's superb pitching.


This live-action movie "The Next Generation -Patlabor-" is based on the enormously popular manga series "Mobile Police Patlabor(機動警察パトレイバー)" in the 1980's. The Next Generation Patlabor will launch with a seven-part theatrical series consisting of a 10-minute “Episode 0” and twelve 45-minute episodes, the first of which was premiere on April 5th, 2014. It will lead up to a full-length feature film in 2015.

A giant life-size PatLabor robot(About 8 meters) was on displayed outside the Chiba Lotte Marines stadium. Many people rushed out early in the morning to catch a glimpse of it. The main character of the movie Akira Izumino(泉野明) played by Mano thew out the ceremonial first pitch at the game. On April 13th, 2014, the robot was on display outside Tokyo's Kichijoji Station to commemorate the movie and it drew a huge crowd.
