AKB48 member Watanabe Mayu(渡辺麻友) (17) is reportedly starring in a drama series next season on TV Tokyo. This will be her first time with a solo starring role in a drama.
Details about the show’s story and Watanabe’s supporting cast are being kept secret for now, but it is said that the series has a school setting. The series is scheduled to start on January 13.
It was also announced that a manga version of the story will run in Kodansha(講談社)’s Young Magazine, starting with next year’s issue #7 that goes on sale on January 16.
