Morning Musume’s Mitsui Aika(光井愛佳) fractures her ankle

It was reported on Tuesday that Morning Musume member Mitsui Aika(光井愛佳) (18) suffered an injury during the group’s concert at the Nakano Sun Plaza on May 8. She complained of discomfort in her left ankle after the show, and she was taken to the hospital the next day to have it examined. She was diagnosed with a stress fracture in the ankle’s talus bone, requiring 8 weeks of rest and treatment for it to fully heal.

Mitsui will still participate in Morning Musume’s scheduled events and concerts, though she will refrain from any intense dancing.

The group has two upcoming performances in Osaka on May 14-15, followed by several events and shows in June.
