DOPING PANDA to disband in April 2012

Rock band DOPING PANDA announced that they will break up after a concert at Tokyo Dome City Hall on April 19th. The band first formed 15 years ago in 1997, and they have had their current 3-member lineup since 12 years ago. They finally made their major label debut in 2005.

According to the message posted on their official website by vocalist Furukawa Yutaka, DOPING PANDA established their own private studio in 2010. For the past two years, the members have gathered there almost every day, honing their skills as musicians. During that time, they released multiple albums and did a tour in Europe, and they feel that they have greatly evolved as musicians.

However, at the end of last year, it was decided that they would leave that studio. But compared to those two years they spent there, the members feel that without a similar place they can no longer continue with their music in the same way as they did then. As a result, they chose to disband DOPING PANDA.

Tickets for the band’s final concert on April 19th are already on advance sale.
