Sweet Vacation to go on indefinite hiatus

Techno pop duo Sweet Vacation announced the group will go on indefinite hiatus on Sunday, after finishing a special program on Ustream. In addition, both Hayakawa Daichi (producer) and May (vocals) are leaving their management agency Bug Corporation, and May is signing with Sky Corporation instead.

In the announcement on their website, the duo declared that they will be taking a “vacation” from their music activities after the release of their best album “Suibake no Early Best +8/スイバケのアーリーベスト+8” on April 13. May said that she will continue working in other areas of show business, but she hopes to eventually resume her music career. May currently models for several magazines and appears on television shows such as TV Tokyo’s “Piramekino/ピラメキーノ.”

May got her start in show business in Thailand as part of the girl group Preppy G. She met Hayakawa in the fall of 2006, and the two of them formed Sweet Vacation the following year. They released their first major label album in 2008, and May got accepted into Waseda University in 2009.
