AKB48 announces Team 4(チーム4) captain and two new members

AKB48 announced some changes to Team 4 on Saturday. Member Oba Mina(大場美奈) has been appointed as the team’s captain, and two research students have been added as official members: Abe Maria(阿部マリア) and Iriyama Anna(入山杏奈).

Team 4 was created in June as AKB48′s fourth team, with only 10 initial members. With the addition of Abe and Iriyama, the team now has 12 spots filled, leaving only 4 more available spaces.

Although they are now official members of Team 4, that does not make Abe and Iriyama automatically eligible for the upcoming AKB48 janken tournament, since their promotions had not been decided at the time of the preliminary rounds. However, Iriyama already earned a spot in the tournament as a research student during the preliminaries.
