Tetsuji Tamayama(玉山鉄二) On Asadora Drama's First Foreign Heroine: No Need To Worry

The next NHK asadora series "Massan(マッサン)" has been announced and it is set to begin airing on September 29th, 2014. The drama series to star Tetsuji Tamayama(玉山鉄二) (34) and first ever asadora foreign heroine, US actress Charlotte Kate Fox(シャーロット・ケイト・フォックス) (28). On May 14th, 2014, the two "lovebirds" were shown off to the media on location in Takehara, Hiroshima.

Tamayama to played the man who brings whisky to Japan, Masaharu Kameyama(亀山政春). Charlotte Kate Fox to portrayed his wife as Ellie Kameyama(亀山エリー). The story of Massan is based on the life of Rita Cowen, a Scotswoman who married a Japanese man Masataka Taketsuru(竹鶴政孝), the father of Japan's whisky industry. The filming of the drama took place at Mr. Masataka's birthplace "Taketsuru brewing(竹鶴酒造)".

It is said Charlotte had undergone two months of intensive Japanese language training before the filming of the drama, which started on May 7th, 2014. Tamayama said, "She has good intonation. I thought I was the one making mistakes." Charlotte said she would apologize in Japanese, "I am really sorry" when the takes were no good. She feels grateful that everyone on set were so nice and didn't mind.
